Now that the WSOP schedule has been released for the fall series, poker fans are starting to work out how to attend. By September, Las Vegas is set to be buzzing with excitement as professional players and amateurs hit the felt in order to see who can claim WSOP gold. For poker pros, it’s all about getting back to work and having fun. With poker having been unavailable for many months last year, pros had to go online in order to make a living. Now, with live events like the WSOP are back in action, pros are coming back in full force.

This week, poker pro Daniel Negreanu announced that he was going to compete in the series and is ‘stoked’ about the schedule. In speaking with the media, Negreanu said that since the WSOP is taking place in the fall, it will be much nicer temperature-wise in Las Vegas. The poker pro tends to stay in an RV parked at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, so cooler temperatures make RV living much easier!

WSOP Play as a GGPoker Ambassador

Negreanu signed a deal with GGPoker back in November 2019 and without a WSOP in 2020, this will mark the first time the pro will compete in the series since signing with the online poker room. Negreanu pointed out that this year’s schedule is filled with a ton of events he is excited about. There are more mixed games with high buy-ins this year, including the $50k Poker Players Championship and a $25,000 H.O.R.S.E. event.

The poker pro pointed out the new GGPoker Flip & Go event on the WSOP schedule. The format is a new option at GGPoker that debuted in 2021. Negreanu is very familiar with the concept and players from GGPoker should recognize the gaming option. Going live with an online game will be a unique option for the WSOP players.

Will He Be Successful?

With Negreanu confirming that he will be competing in the series, will he be successful? Odds are that Negreanu will cash out during the series. Since 1998, he has cashed out at least once every year during the series.

The most cash outs came in 2019 when he earned 23 payouts and reached five final tables. He cashed out 11 times in 2017 and 10 in 2013. To date, Negreanu has six WSOP bracelets and is long overdue for his 7th. He won his 6th bracelet back in 2013.

It will be interesting to see how well he fairs in the WSOP fall competition. Stay tuned for regular updates in the next few months once the action gets started.
