It is always a little disappointing when a fighter is forced to withdraw from a scheduled fight. It is even more so when the fight that is affected is the headliner. That is what we are looking at this weekend with UFC Fight Night Vegas 14. The headline event was supposed to see Islam Makhachev and Rafael dos Anjos go head to head, but Makhachev was forced to withdraw with an injury. It will be Paul Felder who steps in on just 5 days’ notice to fill that spot. As disappointing as this news is, we still have a great main card, with 6 fights to choose from. There is a lot to cover here, so let’s get right to it so you can make your bets against their UFC odds.

UFC Fight Night: Felder Vs Dos Anjos | MMA Betting

Brendan Allen (-120) Vs Sean Strickland (-110)

The opening fight on the main card is a Middleweight bout that is about as evenly matched as it gets. Brendan Allen is 15-3 in his pro career, but he has been on a tear of late, winning each of his last 7 fights, the majority of which he finished early. Strickland broke out of a run that saw him lose 2 of 3 and has bounced back with wins in his last 2 fights to take his career record to 21-3. While this looks like a fight that could go the distance, I am taking Allen by submission.

Antonio Arroyo (+110) Vs Eryk Anders (-140)

Its another Middleweight bout up next and another one that might just be too close to call. Aroyo will be looking to bounce back after losing by UD to Andre Muniz last time out. That defeat ended a 5-fight win streak and took his career mark to 9-3. Anders is also looking to bounce back from a defeat, but he is on a run that made that loss not so unexpected, winning just 3 of his last 8 fights. Form would seem to be on the side of Aroyo, but I think Anders gets it via submission.

Kay Hansen (-220) Vs Cory McKenna (+180)

The ladies are up next for a Strawweight bout between a pair of fighters in very good form ahead of this one. Kay Hansen is on a 4-fight win streak, but this will be just her second start in the UFC. She scored a 3rd round win in her debut to move to 7-3 in her career. Fighting out of Wales, Cory McKenna is 5-1 and on a 3-fight win streak. This will be a step up, though, as it is her first in the UFC. There is not a huge experience difference here, but I think Hansen takes this via submission.

Julian Marquez (-290) Vs Saparberg Safarov (+230)

It’s another Middleweight bout as we draw ever nearer to the headline event of the night. Julian Marquez will be looking to bounce back after taking a split decision loss in his last bout, a defeat that dropped his record to 7-2. Safarov has a very respectable 9-3 record, but the problem he has is that those losses have all come recently, with just 1 win in his last 4 fights. I don’t think things will get better for him here, as I like Marquez to win by KO.

Abdul Razak Alhassan (-235) Vs Khaos Williams (+195)

Next up is a Welterweight battle that I would be very surprised to see go the distance. Alhassan comes into this one on the heels of a decision loss, but prior to that, he had 3 opening round KO wins, taking his record to 10-2 in the process. Khaos Williams comes into this one having won 7 straight fights, taking his pro mark to 10-1, but it is worth noting that just one of those fights came in the UFC. This one will be over quickly, with Alhassan getting the KO.

Paul Felder (+155) Vs Rafael dos Anjos (-190)

You don’t really expect much when a fighter is brought in at the last minute, but Paul Felder is a fighter with a proven track record. At 17-5, Felder has toyed with the idea of retiring, but this is a big fight that was too good to pass up. Dos Anjos is going to need to adjust quickly after preparing to fight someone else, so that might prove to be a bit of a leveler here. I am a little concerned about Felder being ready for this on such short notice, which is why I am on dos Anjos by decision.
