We have another big night in Bellator set to go, and just like last week, this event will take place on a Thursday night instead of the traditional Friday fight nights. Bellator 252 does not come with a big main card, as it will only have 3 fights, but it is headlined by a title fight, which will help make up for the lack of bouts on the main card. As always, this one will be held in the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, which has become the unofficial home of Bellator during the pandemic. As it stands at the time of writing, all 3 of the main card fights are good to go, which means it’s time to break them down and make some predictions, along with their Bellator odds.
Bellator 252 Betting Preview | MMA Analysis
Daniel Weichel (+195) Vs Emmanuel Sanchez (-245)
The main card begins with a Featherweight bout featuring a pair of fighters who bring a ton of experience into the octagon. Weichel comes in with a 40-11 career mark, and while that is certainly impressive, he has had some struggles of late. After a run that saw him win 4 consecutive fights, he took back to back losses before bouncing back with a UD win over Saul Rodgers last time out. In fact, each of his last 4 fights have gone the distance, so don’t expect to see him end this one early. Sanchez, which comes in with a 19-4 pro record, is 5 years younger than his opponent, so a little less experienced. That said, he is on a fine run of form that has seen him win 5 of his last 6 bouts. 3 of his last 6 fights have been split evenly between decisions and early finishes. I think this one goes the distance, with Sanchez getting the nod.
Yaroslav Amosov (-195) Vs Logan Storley (+165)
This Welterweight bout is down as the co-main event of the night, and for very good reason. It features a pair of fighters who are coming into this one with unblemished pro records, so one of them is going to see that unbeaten mark come to an end on Thursday night. At 24-0, Amosov is the more experienced of the two fighters, but this is still going to be a tough one. In 4 of his last 7 fights, he has won without going beyond the 2nd round, with the other 3 going his way via decision. Storley is 11-0, which includes a 6-fight win streak under the Bellator banner, and while a lot of his fights go the distance, 2 of the last 4 have finished in the first two rounds. I think this one goes the distance, with Amosov getting the win.
Patricio Pitbull (-700) Vs Pedro Carvalho (+500)
The two men in this Featherweight title fight will likely be paying close attention to the opening fight on the main card, as the winner of that one may serve as the next opponent for the winning fighter here. Patricio Pitbull needs no introduction to Bellator fans, as he is a 2-time champion at this weight. He is coming into this fight looking for his 4th straight title defense, but staying at the top has not been easy, with 3 of his last 5 fights going the distance. At 11-3, Carvalho is not the most experienced fighter out there, but his 6 straight wins have certainly earned him a shot at the belt. He has finished his last 3 fights quickly, but I think the script will be flipped on him here, as I think Pitbull gets the job done early.
