Rumors pop up and news breaks 24-7 in the National Football League. Check out the latest, including how the Jets are eyeing the soon to be Heisman Trophy winner, the Seahawks are interested in a former best wide receiver in the league, and how the Dolphins are pulling the trigger on their franchise quarterback. That being said, let’s jump right into action so you can make your bets against their NFL odds.
NFL News & Rumors: Jets to Trade Darnold and Draft Lawrence?
Are the New York Jets trading Sam Darnold and drafting Trevor Lawrence?
It didn’t take long for the New York Jets to decide that their young quarterback wasn’t worth the trouble. Sam Darnold, their top pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, is on the trading block. The Jets can deny it all they want, but there’s no way J-E-T-S passes on Trevor Lawrence. Because the Jets won’t win a game, there’s no chance they’ll lose the first pick. That means Lawrence is their future quarterback. Why not trade now while teams have interest in the talented Darnold?
Seattle may be considering signing Antonio Brown
The Seattle Seahawks are thinking of signing Antonio Brown. They’re not the only team. When Brown doesn’t cause problems, he’s a talented wide receiver who knows how to use his body to shield footballs from defenders. He also rarely drops a pass.
Seattle could be a landing place. So could the Baltimore Ravens. Baltimore is looking at Dez Bryant . . . again. If they’re thinking of signing Bryant, they must be thinking of signing Antonio Brown. No matter where AB lands, expect him to play it cool. He’s worked hard to rebuild his self-inflicted tattered image.
Dolphins will go with Tua in Week 8
Ryan Fitzpatrick said that when Miami told him they were going to start first round pick Tua Tagovailoa in the game after their bye, his heart broke. FitzMagic should know that Tagovailoa is the franchise quarterback, which leads us to believe that Ryan simply wants to get onto the football field.
We’ve got love a Harvard grad who gets his heart broken because he just loves playing football. The moves makes sense, of course. Give Tua an extra week to prepare and then see what he can do against the tough Los Angeles Rams defense.
Raiders send their entire offensive line home on Wednesday due to Brown’s positive COVID test
If you had any doubt that the National Football League hates the Raiders, put those doubts to rest. The Buccaneers versus Raiders game has been moved from Sunday night to Sunday afternoon due to COVID positives.
The problem for Las Vegas? Three of their five starters along the offensive line, center Rodney Hudson, guard Gabe Jackson, and left tackle Kolton Miller are on the COVID list. So is starting safety Jonathan Abram.
The NFL is tired of rescheduling games due to teams not following coronavirus pandemic protocols. The Raiders must deal with a hot Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad with a decimated offensive line and arguably their best secondary player out of action.
Although the NFL has every right to force the Raiders to go ahead with the game, it’s hard not to feel that if COVID positives ravaged the Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, or Pittsburgh Steelers, they’d figure out a solution to get those teams back to playing shape.
The best thing Vegas can do is beat the Bucs. That’s probably what coach Jon Gruden is telling his players.
